To obtain the MAC address of your Mac for a wired internet connection, please follow the instructions below. Note: MAC/Adapter addresses are in the form of yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy. They do not, however, begin with 44, as in this example: 44:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy.

For OS X Sierra or Higher (version 10.12 or higher)

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. Click Advanced button.
  4. Click the Hardware tab.
  5. Note the MAC Address.

Please contact the Temple University Help Desk if you have any questions or experience any issues. The Help Desk can be reached through the Request Help tab on the Information Technology Services website, though email at help@temple.edu, or by calling 215-204-8000.
