To obtain the MAC address of your Mac for a wired internet connection, please follow the instructions below. Note: MAC/Adapter addresses are in the form of yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy. They do not, however, begin with 44, as in this example: 44:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy.

For OS X High Sierra or Higher (version 10.13 or higher)

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
  2. In the Internet & Wireless section of the System Preferences window, click the Network icon.
  3. In the left panel of the Network window, click Ethernet.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Click the Hardware tab. The combination of twelve letters and numbers is the MAC Address.
